Outer Banks Home Builders Association

Promoting and preserving the integrity and value of the homebuilding community

The Outer Banks Home Builders Association (OBHBA) is a professional trade organization committed to informing, educating, and promoting the members of the local building industry. Chartered by the National Association of Home Builders in 1979, the association has grown from an initial group of 37 members to a robust and steadily expanding network today.

Our membership represents the full spectrum of the homebuilding industry, including:

• Licensed building contractors

• Skilled tradespeople

• Building material suppliers

• Bankers and insurance professionals

• Realtors, decorators, and designers

• Many other businesses that support construction on the Outer Banks

A Community-Focused Membership

With more than 500 members who both live and work in the communities they serve, OBHBA is committed to strengthening not only the local building industry but the well-being of the Outer Banks as a whole.

Our members actively contribute to the community by:

• Building handicap ramps for residents in need

• Donating food and funds to the local Food Pantry

• Awarding an average of $9,000 in scholarships to local students each year

• Supporting local charities and responding to community needs as they arise

Beyond professional contributions, many members serve as scout leaders, coach youth sports, participate in civic organizations, and sit on town and county boards.
